How to Fix iPhone 7 Front Camera Not Working | Chip Repair

Share

Both hardware and software failures can cause front camera not working, if your iPhone front camera remains black screen after troubleshooting the software and replacing the parts, this is usually caused by motherboard defect. In this article, we will share how to troubleshoot and fix iPhone 7 front camera not working, follow our guides, you will be able to troubleshoot and fix your iPhone as well, hope you enjoy our sharing.

Step 1 Function Test

Turn on the iPhone and launch the camera app. Rear camera works properly, but the front camera can not work and shows black screen.

Step 2 Diagnosis

We measured the front camera connector J4503 diode resistance and found open circuit in pin 1. As the power supply gives 2.9V voltage to the pin 1 to power the front camera, there are 3 reasons can cause the pin 1 open circuit: defect inductor FL2903, defect power supply, or the motherboard circuit damage.

Step 3 Troubleshooting

When taking off the anti-static sticker, we found slight burnt in the inductor FL2903, and measured open circuit in inductor FL2903 (while the diode resistance on the power end for inductor FL2903 showed normal). Therefore, the pin 1 open circuit is caused by the defect inductor FL2903

Step 4 Repairing

Replace a new good inductor FL2903 and solder, when it’s cools down, remeasure the resistance on the front camera connector, the diode resistance showed normal. Reassemble the motherboard and test the front camera, the camera works well, repair completed.
