When you drop your iPhone or replace the screen, its face ID might not work, this is mainly due to unintentional damage to the flex cable. In this article, we demonstrate how to fix face ID failure on iPhone X caused by flex cable damage. We hope you enjoy our sharing.
Step. 1 Diagnosis
Turn on the iPhone, go to Settings-Face ID & Passcode. Tap Set Up Face ID, but the facial recognition is failed.
Noticed: The vertical line on the original screen is caused by OLED damage, and should not affect the Face ID function.
Step 2. Troubleshooting
Take off the screen assembly of iPhone, and we found the flex cable connected to the ear speaker and sensor is broken. We should remove and change a new ear speaker and sensor assembly.
Step 3. Assemble & Test
Reassemble the iPhone X and test the Face ID function. Face ID works well, case closed.
